MURAT YAZICI
Murat Yazıcı founded YAZICI Attorney Partnership in 1989. Before establishing the firm, he held legal and managerial positions in oil and gas exploration activities at Shell, Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), and Exxon, between 1974 and 1989.
With over four decades of experience, Murat is a leading authority in oil & gas, energy, and natural resources law in Turkey. He also offers comprehensive legal counsel in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and finance transactions. He has vast experience in representing clients in high-stakes transactions and complex negotiations and arbitrations across various countries and jurisdictions including the UK, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Ghana and Colombia.
He previously taught Introduction to the Turkish Legal System at Middle East Technical University in Ankara.
Murat Yazıcı has held advisory roles and non-executive director positions with numerous international companies, including Genel Energy Plc. Having been a founder and a chairman of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Platform Association (PETFORM), he had an important role in reflecting industry views to the legislature during the drafting and enactment of Turkish Petroleum Law, Petroleum Market Law and Natural Gas Market Law and remains an advisor to its Board and is also a founder and trustee of the Energy and Climate Change Foundation (ENİVA).
