International and Local Expertise in Upstream and Downstream Transactions

YAZICI stands out in oil and gas with the quantity and the size of transactions it was involved in, ranging from regulatory and upstream contracts to major IPOs, acquisitions and project finance. 

In international upstream transactions, we have decades of experience in production sharing agreements, revenue sharing agreements and tax and royalty regimes in the context of exploration and development projects. We have been advising oil & gas majors as well as independent companies and joint ventures in their projects in Iraq, the USA, Colombia, Romania, Poland, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan and various African countries. Our experience also extends to joint operating agreements, farm-in/out agreement as well as drilling, field services and well head services agreements.

In Turkey, we advise on all stages of exploration and development licenses applications under the Turkish Petroleum Law and represent our clients before the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs on regulatory aspects. We have vast experience in conducting due diligence of oil and gas projects, and advising investors on all aspects of the ensuing share transfers or assignments of interest in licenses.

Market Activities

We advise various international oil companies in relation to lifting, metering, sales and import agreement either with local/foreign buyers or with pipeline operators. In Turkey, we also represent our clients before the Energy Market Regulatory Authority with respect to all regulatory aspects of their natural gas, petroleum and LNG market and related construction activities.

Pipelines and Oil and Gas Facilities

We have extensive experience in implementation of host government and intergovernmental agreements, as well as various tax and regulatory aspects of both oil and gas pipeline projects. Our background in pipeline projects expands to international oil and gas projects in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan starting from early 1990s, Iraq and Russia starting from early 2000s, up to the transit pipelines in 2010’s. 

We have also been advising international and foreign project owners and contractors in the oil and gas industry with respect to major EPC projects in Turkey and abroad such as refineries, production and processing facilities, metering, pumping and natural gas storage facilities.
